Oh these two...
This picture shows just how different they are...Ben is in shorts and no coat, and Trevor barely has any skin showing (pants, gloves, hat, coat). Ben loves to play outside, and Trev likes to stay where it is not too warm and not too cold. Ben likes to be constantly moving, and Trev could sit and read books all day long. Ben has a sweet tooth, but Trevor would rather eat fruit. But yet they are the best of friends. Their relationship reminds me a lot of my sister, Gretchen, and my relationship. They don't fight too often...but they could because they know exactly what pushes the other person's buttons. They respect each other's stuff. Ben always makes sure that Trevor is included whether at home or at school. I think a lot of siblings would just go and play with their own friends, but Ben talks to Trevor before school about what they are going to play at recess with Ben's friends when they get there. Ben had his best friend, Dallin, invite Trevor to his Birthday party last year. Those 3 are like peas in a pod. Dallin is a good sport about it--he is a sweet boy, so it is no surprise that he is so nice to Trevor.
Gretch always toted me along with her. Some of my favorite memories with my sister, are of Friday and Saturday nights she would go hang out with her friends. But, she had a car, so she would often go pick up friends and take them to wherever they were going. She would let me come pick up her friends with her and then she would drop me off after she got everybody. The first time I T.P.ed was with Gretch. I can't count how many dates she let me tag along on. When she would go over to her boy friend's houses--not saying they were her boyfriends--I would come...and sometimes I think I was the chaperon. She even let me come down and stay with her her first year at college in the dorms. (She let me come down other years too, but it was a big deal for me to stay in the dorm with her.) Gretchen had a best friend, Christy, who, just like Dallin, was a good sport about me always hanging around. I love my sister. I still look up to her so much. I am so glad that these 2 boys are such good friends.
