Oh What Do You Do In The Rainy Time?

So it has occurred to us, that with as much money as we put into sending Piper to occupational therapy each week, we could build our own sensory building! I can't help but sing the song, "Oh what do you do in the summertime when all the world is green?" when I see this picture:


The problem with our seeker is that we live in a place where it is not always the nicest weather to go outside and play all the time. So why not put a swing in the middle of the living room? I mean, why not? We already got rid of our kitchen table to make more room for play things. Who needs a living room? 

So now, this is where I predict that she will be spending most of her time!

Egg Hunt

Today was the traditional egg hunt for our church. However, the people who use to host it moved last summer. It turns out that part of the deal for the new owners was that they had to continue the Egg Hunt as part of the agreement to buy the house :)

Piper: Yes.

Weekend Happenings

What is that?

Lucy is an eater. She eats and eats. And then when she is done with that she'll eat some more. This morning was no exception. She was eating all morning. I got her down from her seat and she started walking out of the kitchen. Then all at once she noticed something: 
What was this thing down there?



She's going to find out

She seriously knows that something strange is under there.

Holy Cow! She has never noticed that super full tummy before! It was throwing her off. 

Being Political

Grant and I read that Ted Cruz was coming to our area. So we decided to head over and be a part of the rally. We have never done anything like that before. Because we had something else going on, we were a little late so we didn't get inside, so we hung out with the couple of thousand people outside. It was fun! I would totally be that political again. 

Infusion Day

These two are becoming infusion day pals! I think it is nice for Trevor to have someone to go with him. After his infusion, he had a GI appointment since we were in the area and he was due for one. The doctor was a little worried with the way he was looking and his labs came back with some inflammation and anemia, so they decided that they are going to scope Trevor again on the 22nd. Poor buddy. 

Dr. Seuss

Yesterday we had preschool at our house, and we celebrated Dr. Seuss. I was so excited for this theme because the possibilities were endless!
The kids probably weren't as excited as I was, but it still was fun. I loved all the projects that we did. One thing we did was play Pin the Hat on The Cat.  The kids put the patterned stripes on their hats. (I drew that cat--ha!) After preschool, I gave the Cat to Piper to hang on her wall. So she wrote her name on it. Look at that name! How does anybody even write like that--it is amazing. You have letters backwards, frontwards, upsidedown and one somewhat diagonal.  That is pure talent, and priceless!
We also made pencil holders and truffula trees made out of pencils (thank you pinterest!). Lydia made her own version of it and was ready for Dr. Seuss day at school. 

Here's Looking At You Kid

Lydia is SO excited because she got glasses. She only needs them for reading, and doing other things up close. But she is over the top excited! Funny story: she was trying to figure out which pair of glasses she wanted. She had it narrowed down to two pairs. The guy who was helping us was amazingly nice and patient. He played games with her to help her make her decision and everything. She finally decided on a pair, and he asked her if she had any questions for him. She thought about it for a minute and then said, "Yes. How much wood would a woodchuck chuck, if a woodchuck could chuck wood." Without missing a beat, he answered her and didn't mind her randomness. He said that she was the highlight of his day!
