Patiently Waiting

Karmin FINALLY got her next belt in taekwondo. It has been a year! We just weren't aware of tests or were busy on the tests that we knew about. For someone who only wanted to go to TKD until she got a yellow belt because they were pretty, I'm proud of her for getting a couple of more belts in!

Best. Weekend. EVER!

This was the most magical weekend ever. I loved every second of it!
Grant has always wanted to see Garth Brooks in concert. We have been looking at this tour for about 6 months, but nothing was "close enough" to us. A few weeks ago, Grant noticed that he was going to be right outside of Anaheim. We started thinking about it, and decided that we might not ever get an opportunity to see him in concert because he is not getting any younger! So we decided to make a trip of it!
It was the craziest idea ever, but worth every cent. We got a friend to watch our kids. We flew down super early Thursday morning and spent the rest of the day at Disneyland. Friday we spent most of the day at Disneyland until it was time to go to the concert. Then Saturday we spent almost a full day at Disneyland and then flew home late.
We haven't been to Disneyland sans kids since our honeymoon. It was awesome not entertaining everyone. We could just stand in line---and that was it...just stand there. We didn't have to come up with silly games to entertain. We didn't have to pass around food or make sure that people went to the bathroom before we got in line. We didn't have to be human jungle gyms. We didn't have to take a vote on which rides people wanted to go on. We could just stand there and talk to each other! We got to see each other at Disneyland! It was so much fun!!! (Not that those other things aren't fun. They obviously bring another dimension to our lives, but for this trip, it was fun to see each other)
The concert was amazing! Just like I remember it when I went in High School. We were super early to the concert because we didn't know the start time on the ticket was not a real start time...it was just a hey-it-would-be-fun-to-hang-out-and-have-everybody-drink-before-we-decide-to-start-about-an-hour-later time. And apparently people did drink because when the concert was about 3/4 of the way over, the guy sitting next to me (luckily there were two open seats between us) started to puke everywhere. And he just puked and puked. And it was nasty. So we moved a couple of rows down.

I loved being with Grant. Besides the guy puking, it was a perfect trip. Heavenly.

DH MTB

Ben had his first race while we were gone. He got 2nd place! And there were more than 2 people racing...3rd place just didn't wait around for the ceremony. We were so proud of him!

Today

Today was a full day. Lydia had swim lessons, we had to leave the house to show it, we went to see the house that we will be renting for the next few months and meet the landlord, the Kona Ice truck showed up so we had to have some, and the boys had activities.

Life is so hard!!!

Swim Lessons

It was time for Lydia to have swim lessons. She just needed to have constant time in a pool where she was safe so she could just take off swimming---and the river just wasn't cutting it. She has been doing swim lessons and I can officially say she is a swimmer! She loves it!

Their First Real Job

Ben and Trevor had their first real job...and they did it together! They worked at a shooting range keeping score and doing other odd and end jobs (emptying garbages). Trevor was there more often than Ben so he got to keep score. And Trevor wracked in the tips. He's just so cute! How can you not tip that cute face! Trevor was so funny...it was 95 degrees outside and he was dressed for winter--it's his way to put on sunscreen--he doesn't like the lotion!

Getting Closer

Trevor is getting so close to being a black belt! He has had this goal for years, and it is paying off. I'm proud of him for working so hard and going even when he didn't necessarily want to.

Best FHE

The Criddles invited us over for family home evening tonight. It was so much fun. I never knew that a person could get so wet without the aid of a body of water like a pool or lake. We were drenched after our water fight. We were reenacting shooting Samuel the Lamanite up on the wall! Ha! It was great!

Oz-man is getting bigger and more interactive. Karmin and Trevor sure do love him!

They kind of look like siblings

It is crazy. Our kids look so different, but Lucy and Trevor sure do look alike. Trevor loves it when Lucy gives him attention. They are super cute together.
Waiting for Trevor to get back...one can never have enough binkies...

Yea he is home! Trevor had a great week at scout camp! I love it that he is back home!

Lydia's birthday party

We had Lydia's birthday party this afternoon. She wanted to have it out at the river house, so we only let her invite a couple of girls. They had so much fun, that we ended up calling their parents to see if they could stay longer. She had her friend Brynlee from church, and of course Aria. A few other girls were out of town, so they couldn't come. Next year we have to do these parties before school gets out!

Piper's party

Piper had her birthday party this morning. She had a much better turn out than in years past. Usually everyone is out of town, but today everyone showed up except one girl who thought it was tomorrow and one girl who was sick. She wanted a princess...and one pirate theme. It was fun. They got to make crowns, treasure boxes, they went on a treasure hunt, and did a pinata. Piper was super happy!

Karmin made the cake!

Scout Camp

Grant got to go up to scout camp for a night this week. So we got pictures of Trevor at camp! My guess is that this year is much better than last year for Trevor. Not that last year was bad because he did have fun, but he has a lot more friends this year.
