Who Needs To Go To A Farm?

The cutest farmer ever!
Our family enjoys going to a farm to pick pumpkins, but this year we grew the pumpkin patch right at home so we didn't even have to go anywhere. We had so many pumpkins! We had orange pumpkins, and neon orange pumpkins, green, and even white pumpkins. This was the first work out in the garden that we didn't have to beg, plead, and bribe the kids to come out and help. They all claimed their own pumpkins and had fun decorating the front door. It was nice to be able to work out in the garden in this beautiful weather that we have been having. It has been a great fall!

Book of Mormon Stories

Miss Karmin started reading her scriptures before she could actually read. And as she would "read" she would color the verse as a bookmark. Then as she learned to read, she was able to go much faster. She has continued to color the verses that she has read. These scriptures are well loved!

Birthday Girl

Our little miss Minnie turned 8 today. She was SO excited for this day because she knew that when she turned 8, she would be able to get baptized. She chose to have crepes for breakfast (I'm starting to wonder if my kids know that there are other options out there), noodles in a cup for lunch, and pizza for dinner. Since it was Sunday, it was a low-key day, but we did go on that fishing excursion the day before.

Karmin is such a sweet girl. She is happy, and I think that is the best word to describe her. It takes a lot to get her down. She has a tender-heart towards animals. She is a great example to her sisters, and teaches them a lot of things. She loves to read her scriptures, and usually reads them on her own. She loves to teach herself how to do things and how things work. Karmin loves going to school, and wants to be a painting teacher and a horse trainer. She also wants to have a bird when she grows up. We love our happy and sweet Minnie

Lake Elsie

Grant and I wanted to go do something different this weekend. So he asked around at work and heard of a few different lakes that were fun to go fishing at. We finally decided on Lake Elsie. We found the directions for it, packed up the car, and headed out. We drove, and drove...and drove. We were on top of a mountain and wondering at what point we were going to find this Lake Elsie. We went around one last corner, and figured that maybe we should turn around when we finally saw somebody. We were only 5 minutes away. I was so bummed that I forgot our camera. I had it packed, and must have put it down by the door. The kids all enjoyed fishing, but I sure would have loved my camera. Grant's phone was a suitable substitute. The lake was beautiful. The water was so clear that we could see exactly where the fish were. We had fun and enjoyed the fall day.

A Good Book

It's always fun to read a new book. "Michael Vey 4" came out and so Trevor has been enjoying the book---not stopping for anything.

1st day for these kiddos

Ben, Trevor, and Karmin had their first day at their school, "Northside." They were excited about their classes, but nervous that the school was relocated to a new building. Ben is taking classes like fencing, State History, Job Skills, and shop. Trevor is taking a writing class, pottery, drama, and PE--to name a few. Karmin gets to take classes like Spanish, gymnastics, and Science Fair. They are happy to be back and I'm excited to spend some one-on-one time with Piper.

Guns

The boys talked Grant into taking them shooting. They love it. Karmin even got to have a turn and enjoyed her time as well.

Silverwood

The kids earned tickets at school to go to Silverwood for free. We waited until September to go so that it wouldn't be so busy. It worked really well. Grant and I felt like we went on a little mini vacation. Lydia and Piper weren't thrilled with some of the rides. They preferred their feet planted firmly on the ground. But after some time we got them on some rides their size. It was fun to spend the day with the kids and see their excitement.

Best Buds

This girl loves her dog! And her dog is so patient with her!

1st Day!

Lydia started Kindergarten today, and she was SO excited. She wanted to ride the bus so bad. After I got her on the bus, I went down to her school to make sure she got there safely and that she made it to her room. When she saw me at the school she told me basically that I didn't need to be there and she could do this on her own. Little did she know that I couldn't do it--I needed to know she was okay. I took a few pictures of her at her desk, and then left.
My favorite part of the day was seeing the bus coming up to our stop. She got off, and was so excited. She had the best day. There are two of her best friends from church in her class--so I'm pretty sure that she thought Kindergarten was an extension of her church Primary class.
